This week we learned about the exposure triangle- ISO, aperture and shutter speed. ISO is the sensitivity to light, aperture is the size of the hole which lets light through and shutter speed is how much lights gets through.
Aperture
We first started practicing this by taking objects of a few objects. This picture shows high aperture because the background is blurry but the focus point is clear. High aperture means it has a low f value. I found this pretty hard at first because I couldn't get it to focus properly but in the end I achieved it and this is my end-result.
This is another example of high aperture. I like this photo because I think it highlights the raindrops on the railing and the blurry background really helps make the raindrops stand out.
Shutter Speed
We then focused on shutter speed which is how much light gets through. This is mostly used to capture moments that happen really quickly like jumping into a puddle, jumping down the stairs etc. and is mostly used in sports photography. This photo shows fast shutter speed and captures the water coming out of the water fountain and then hitting the metal surface.
This photo also shows fast shutter speed because it captures the moment the water comes up after being stamped in. I think that fast shutter speed photos are harder to take because it is hard to click at the right moment to capture whatever is happening.
We also learnt about ISO and practiced taking photos with high or low ISO but I don't think the ones I took were good enough to go on the blog.
